Chesterbrook Dive Team

We can't run dive meets without parent volunteers! We have a variety of roles available and some of them require prior experience or training. Job signups are completed through SwimTopia.  We appreciate everyone pitching in throughout the season!

Every meet, home and away, requires the following roles Judges, a Referee, an Announcer, Table Workers, and a Meet Secretary.  With 9 meets in a season, every parent will need to pitch in.  Please read the descriptions below and see which roles 

1. Judges - Score the dives!  You must be trained by NVSL at one of several pre-season dive clinics prior to judging for the first time.  
2. Referee - Enforce the rules of diving.  A referee must be trained and certified by NVSL at the pre-season referee training, and must have been a judge for at least one year prior.  Referee's are only required at home meets (the host pool provides this role).
3. Announcer - announces!  The announcer's role is to announce the dives for the judges and divers, then announce the scores for the table workers.  Terrific announcers also help sell concessions and provide music in between divisions.  
4. Table Workers - Keep score.  The easiest job on the pool deck, table workers require no prior experience and can be taught the role right before the meet.  A little basic math is required, but don't worry, we provide the calculators.
5. Meet Secretary - Determines the winners. The meet secretary organizes the dive sheets and determines the winners, ensuring the results are accurate.

There are many opportunities to get engaged throughout the season beyond the meets. We have a tradition of providing donuts for the divers on Wednesday mornings and breakfast for the coaches on Friday mornings.  Parents can sign up to provide these little treats for our hard working coaches and athletes. We also have Social Events for dive team families that need coordinators, and there are also opportunities to join the End of the Year party committee.
